Academic Centers
Issues of peace and justice, faith and culture, social science, women and gender, and community engagement significantly impact our community and our world. Saint Michael’s Academic Centers reflect our commitment to cultivate a vibrant intellectual community and to provide resources for studying issues that are relevant to our institutional mission and history.
Our Academic Centers connect students, faculty, staff, the community and external specialists to promote interdisciplinary study and understanding. The Centers’ directors work with faculty on curriculum and academic programming and facilitate presentations by highly regarded speakers. The Centers offer the opportunities and commitment to specific areas of study that are typical of larger universities, but accomplish this within the more intimate setting of a small college.
Our two newest Centers – the Center for Global Engagement and the Center for the Environment – focus on giving Saint Michael’s students a broad understanding of the natural and global world so they build lives of purpose and consequence.
